"When God thought of mother, He must have laughed with satisfaction, and framed it quickly—so rich, so deep, so divine, so full of soul, power, and beauty, was the conception."

Feeding Time

Since JT started feeding 3 weeks ago, we've made do with using a ceramic saucer that fits in the palm of my hand. I wanted to feel out first how much he's gonna be eating daily so I'd know what to buy, how big his bowls or plates need to be. Within that time span, his consumption increased from 1 tsp of cerelac once a day to 1 tbsp three times a day. The saucer wasn't enough anymore. And he kept grabbing the spoon and fragile saucer that I feared it'll fall out of my hands and smash on the floor. So we went to SM Megamall (of course, Lola Emilie had to come, too).

We bought a 7-pieces feeding set (3 bowls of different sizes, cup, 2 spoons, and a fork); a set of 3-pieces bowl with lid of different sizes to store in his food (the one currently stored in our refrigerator is mashed chayotte or sayote) and will also double as his feeding bowl whenever we go out; and a transparent plastic container to put all these stuff and his bottles in.
For his first spoon, I'm using the one in the middle. The other ones are for when he grows older. This set was given by his Ninang Fawie. What I love about them is that they change color (turns white) when the food or liquid into which it is immersed is too hot for baby.

And here are the welcome additions in our pantry!

Father and Son

mommy moments

This week's theme is Daddy Moments. Here are some of my favorites.

JT's favorite sleeping position. Taken on his first day of rooming-in at the hospital.
Thanks to Pareng JD for this candid shot.
JT's first time to sunbathe.
JT's first bath with Daddy.
Putting JT to sleep.

Mag-ama nga sila.
JT seems more interested in reading than playing.

JT teaching Daddy on what to study for board exams.
When his Daddy left for Sorsogon for 6 days, this was their reunion.

Reading Sessions.

Oh Fishy You're so Fine!

This is JT's current favorite toy - his Mr. Fishy rattle which also has a teething ring (see the oval shaped fin at the bottom part). Lately he seems to be more irritable and can only be pacified when I give him something to chew on.

Much as I'd love to see him grow a tooth or two, I'm a little bit apprehensive on how it will affect my breastfeeding. It already hurts to nurse without teeth, what more if he has them?

Honestly...

There are only 2 rules:

- Choose a minimum of 7 blogs that you find Brilliant in Content or Design and pass this Award.
- List at least 10 honest things about yourself.

Thanks, Twinkie, for this award! Here goes my list:

1. I'm glad for my serendipitous chat with Twinkie on YM yesterday. I so missed her! Kahit medyo nag-ooverlap na topics namin sa pag-uunahan sa tanong or kuwento hahaha.

2. I have no regrets in getting pregnant even if I missed my chance for getting into my dream career. Look what I have now! Super cutie (pagbigyan niyo na ang sobrang bias ko hehe) and kulit na JT :)

3. I'm so glad for all of Sherwin's friends who's giving him opportunities to practice. Really, these are unexpected blessings.

4. I don't mind that I'm short. I did before but not anymore. I used to wear 3" heels and I didn't care if it hurt my feet. Now, I prefer flats.

5. I'm so confused on what direction to take, careerwise. I have to find a compromise because I want to have it all, my dream career with time to spare for my family.

6. I love spending time with my baby. Even though my arms are aching after carrying him for a few minutes (he now weighs 8.4 kgs), I loathe to turn him over to his yaya.

7. I hate doing the threadmill. It takes me at least 5 minutes to talk myself into it.

8. My husband and I are planning to enroll in yoga classes. It might help lower his blood pressure and it'll give us a husband-and-wife activity. But I'd rather enroll in a dance class. I'm doing it mostly for him hehe.

9. I miss dancing. I used to be a part of a dance troupe when I was in Medicine.

10. I want to splurge on clothes. Most of my clothes don't fit the same way anymore because of my post-preggy belly. But I won't because I really don't have anywhere to wear it to since I stay at home most days.

Wow, naka-sampu na pala ako. That was quick hehe.

And now, I'm passing on this award to these brilliant women ... Twinkie (yup, you again!), Ninang Angie, Beth, Chris, Jeng, Cee, and Willa.

Purse Talk

Jeng tagged me for what bag I recently used.

First, here are the tag rules:

1. Post a picture of whatever bag you are carrying as of late. No, you can't go into your closet and pull out your favorite purse! We want to know what you carried today or the last time you left the house.

2. List how much it cost. And this is not to judge. This is for entertainment purposes only. So spill it. And if there is a story to go along with how you obtained it, we'd love to hear it.

3. Tag some chicks. And link back to this post so people know why the heck you're showing everyone your bag.
The last bag I used was this brown UCB shoulder bag. I don't really know how much it costs since it was given by my mom, a "from-one-mom-to-another" gift. She said I'll need bigger bags because of my baby.
I use this most of the time since it's easy to match with my clothes and shoes. Plus, it can hold a lot of stuff even though it's small. If I needed to go out for a little while with JT, I don't need to bring his baby bag. A few diapers, clothes, towels, one bag of wipes - it'll all fit. My stuff included. What's so great about this is that it's expandable.

I'm passing on this tag to Twinkie, Chris, Ninang Angie, and Beth.
